Versailles man pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter, sentenced to probation

VEVRSAILLES, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Versailles man involved in a crash that killed a motorcycle rider in 2021 pleaded guilty on Monday to involuntary manslaughter and other charges.
Scott Wilson, 60, pleaded guilty to second-degree involuntary manslaughter, failure to drive on the right side of the road and failure to yield. He was sentenced to five years of probation with a suspended sentence of four years.
According to previous reporting, Wilson was driving in the left lane of Highway 52 on July 3 when his Jeep collided with a Harley-Davidson driven by Jeffery Smith. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
