COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia woman suffered serious injuries Wednesday in a one-vehicle crash on Route Z, south of Doris Boulevard, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash occurred as a 2000 Ford Taurus – driven by Page Burnett, 25 – was heading south on Route Z.  The Ford went off the right side of the road, Burnett overcorrected and the vehicle eventually went off the left side of the road and overturned, according to the crash report.

Burnett was pinned in the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters, according to the Boone County Fire Protection District.

Burnett was brought to University Hospital by ambulance. She was wearing a seatbelt, according to the crash report. The Ford was totaled.

The Boone County Fire Protection District stated on its Facebook page that North Route Z was closed for about 40 minutes.
