Mizzou star wide receiver meets fans in Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou second-year wide receiver Luther Burden was in the community Saturday afternoon to meet fans at Schnucks grocery store.
The St. Louis native spent the afternoon signing autographs and taking pictures with Tiger fans less than two weeks before the season begins. Burden is featured on a bag of "Luther Burden Honey BBQ Red Hot Riplets" that are sold at Schnucks locations.
"It's a really exciting feeling being on a bag of chips and people buying them," Burden said. "It's a good feeling and I'm excited to be apart of this."
Burden ended his first year in Columbia with 45 catches for 375 yards and five touchdowns. In year two, he'll have an even bigger role as he moves into the slot position to replace Dominic Lovett who transferred to Georgia.
"I just really want to win this year and show people that Mizzou is a winning program and Mizzou has a lot of winning talent," Burden said. "My main focus is just contribute on winning."
Mizzou will kick off the season on Thursday, Aug. 31 at home against South Dakota at 7 p.m.
