Netanyahu voices support for Israel’s military after his allies and son lambaste security officials
JERUSALEM (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his full support for the military following recent rhetorical attacks on senior security officials by his far-right political allies and divisive son. Thousands of military pilots and soldiers have vowed not to turn up for reserve duty in protest of Netanyahu’s contentious plan to overhaul the country’s judiciary. The opposition has sparked a backlash from the prime minister’s coalition allies and other ultranationalists. A minister in Netanyahu’s government attacked the armed forces chief of staff Gen and the Israel air force chief on Tuesday over the reservist protests and said they should be punished for undermining Israel’s security.
