Tracking chances for storms Sunday and dry time early week

TODAY: Scattered storms that developed overnight will quickly come to an end midmorning with a cold front following behind. This front likely clears much of central Missouri by the afternoon, with more storms possible to the east of this boundary later today. Storms that fire up late this afternoon will carry a risk for all severe hazards, including an isolated tornado, but the greatest chance of this lies east of Mid-MO. Our far eastern counties (Gasconade, Montgomery, Audrain) will see the highest chance for strong winds, large hail and rotating storms today. The strongest storms likely exit Mid-Missouri before sundown.

TOMORROW: We'll be noticeably cooler behind the front, and dry, with temperatures climbing from the low 60s to the low 80s.

EXTENDED: Sunshine and mild weather continue on Tuesday, with highs reaching the mid-80s. Things pick back up Wednesday as a system approaches, potentially warming us into the upper 80s, and also bringing a chance for strong storms. The rest of next week looks to stay in the 80s, with at least one more chance for rain into the weekend.
