WEATHER ALERT DAY: Tracking storms with strong wind potential Sunday night
SETUP:
Instability building back into the atmosphere in mid-MO will provide enough fuel for storms, that develop tonight, to carry a very limited severe wind threat into the region. Enough wind shear in the atmosphere will be present to keep these storms alive long enough to produce potential for damaging winds as they spread east through the region.
IMPACTS:
Our overall severe risk is low. This setup supports a limited threat for damaging wind. Small hail may also accompany storms, but large hail is less likely. No tornadoes are expected. Minor tree damage and power outages are possible.
TIMING:
Timing will generally come in the 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Window. It's unclear exactly when or where storms will develop, but was develop may pose a wind threat. These storms will gradually spread southeast after development.
