Fire department investigating shed fire in Central Columbia

The Columbia Fire Department is investigating what caused a shed to catch fire in the 1200 block of Lakeview Avenue on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were sent to the scene shortly after three Wednesday morning, where a shed was found engulfed in flames. Columbia fire training Capt. Jeff Coffman said six trucks went to the scene within about 5 minutes.

Coffman said the shed was destroyed in the fire, though no one was injured as a result of the fire. A woman in her 50s was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries after falling outside of the shed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
