Man on parole for murder faces gun and drug charges

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in 2008 in St. Louis is facing gun and drug charges in Cole County.

Myron Mull, 32, of Jefferson City, is charged with unlawful gun possession, unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree drug trafficking and distribution of a controlled substance.

Mull pleaded guilty in 2008 to first-degree murder, two counts of armed-criminal action and first-degree assault. He was sentenced to 18 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. The probable cause statement and DOC online records indicate he is on parole for those charges.

On Monday night, Jefferson City police pulled over a vehicle with no taillights on and an expired tag. During the stop, police allegedly saw Mull reach for something. The driver of the vehicle informed police she had a gun in her purse.

Police asked her to step out of the vehicle and searched her purse. Police found a gun, but the woman said the gun they found was not hers and that her firearm was still in the purse and suggested Mull allegedly put it there while she wasn’t looking, according to the probable cause statement.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found several different drugs in bags.
