Tracking slim rain chances and a spring-like week ahead

TODAY: Tuesday is another mild and bright day, with partly cloudy skies and highs forecast in the upper 60s. Some chance for rain will be possible in the far north near Macon and Paris, as a shortwave just clips our northern regions. Overall, today is mostly dry.

TONIGHT: We'll keep partly cloudy skies overnight, and temperatures will drop into the low 40s with a light easterly breeze through sunrise.

EXTENDED: On Wednesday, we're in the sweet spot. With high pressure anchoring cold air to our north, and rain passing by to our south, we'll end up mostly dry, and near our seasonable norms, in the upper 60s yet again. The aforementioned rain passing just south of us will have some potential for limited impact near the Lake of the Ozarks by Thursday, but chances are low, and I expect most to stay dry. A closer track of rain and clouds will drop forecast highs into the low 60s. By Friday, we're back in the upper 60s, as winds are in from the south ahead of an area of low pressure approaching from the west. Rain chances will grow by Friday evening, and linger through Saturday, but this won't be a wash out. Depending on timing, low chances for scattered showers will be forecast Friday night through Saturday. As this system pushes, east, clouds and sprinkles may linger into Sunday. Regardless of precip chances, we expect a cool weekend, with highs just cracking 60 Saturday and Sunday.
