Tracking overnight showers before strong Saturday storms
Tonight: Overnight lows cool into the lower 60s as cloud cover increases. After 3 AM, scattered showers and storms will move into the region. The main threat with this initial round is heavy downpours and some gusty winds.
Tomorrow: An ABC17 Weather Alert Day has been issued as storms look to begin shortly after 3 PM Saturday. Strong winds up to 60 MPH, and hail up to 1" or greater are the main threats for tomorrows system. The possibility for a tornado is possible, but remains low at this time. Storms will eventually become linear and push east into the later overnight hours losing its ability to maintain severe statuses. The afternoon highs top out into the lower 80s.
Extended: Showers remain after the passage of a cold front into Sunday before exiting Sunday afternoon. Temperatures take a hit, cooling into the lower 50s as winds gust out of the northwest. Monday and Tuesday see drier conditions and another warming trend. The second half of next week sees more chances of showers and storms.
