Tracking multiple rounds of severe storm Tuesday

Today: Temperatures continue to rise into the upper 80s thanks to strong winds out of the south. A Wind Advisory has been issued lasting until 7 AM Wednesday morning with gusts up to 50 mph possible. Storms begin this afternoon just after 3 PM if the environment can overcome a CAP. A CAP acts like a lid to a water bottle . It can prevent storms from firing off, but if the CAP lifts, strong to severe storms can be expected with winds up to 60-70 MPH, hail greater than 1" in diameter, and even a few tornadoes possible. The main time span for this severe threat for the first round goes from 3-8 PM this afternoon.

Tonight: A secondary threat of severe storms begin after 10 PM tonight as storms form along a passing cold front. All severe risks will once again be on the table with this secondary round. These storms will remain across Mid-Missouri until 7 AM. Overnight lows cool to the lower 50s.

Extended: The passing cold front leads to a significant cool down into Wednesday and Thursday with overnight lows reaching into the mid to lower 30s. Skies remain mostly sunny throughout the second half of the week with highs slowly increasing into the lower 70s by the weekend.
