Mexico firefighters investigating Thursday carport fire

MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mexico Department of Public Safety said investigators are looking into what caused a carport to catch fire on Thursday.

Mexico first responders were called to a home on the 800 block of West Monroe Street around 5:18 p.m. Firefighters said it spread had to an adjacent house and tree when crews arrived.

DPS authorities said the carport that originally caught fire was a total loss, other structures had a small amount of damage. Crews said no injuries were reported.
