Slow start leads to home loss for Mizzou women’s basketball

The Mizzou women's basketball team lost to (13) Mississippi State, 79-64, after a slow start.

The loss drops Mizzou's record to 4-12 (1-2 SEC).

Haley Troup led Mizzou with 14 points off the bench. Hayley Frank added 13 points off the bench as well.

However, Mizzou trailed by 22 points at halftime after turning the ball over 18 times. The Tigers limited their turnovers to just five in the second half and outscored the Bulldogs in the last 20 minutes.

Freshman Rickea Jackson scored a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds as the first-half deficit for the Tigers proved to be too much.

Mizzou next faces (21) Arkansas on the road Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
