One shot in south Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A juvenile was hurt in a shooting Thursday in south Columbia.

The Columbia Police Department responded to a call Thursday night about a possible shooting at Betty Jean Way in southern Columbia.

An ABC 17 News reporter saw eight police officers, an ambulance and a fire truck. A CPD officer said a child was involved.

A CPD spokesman said Friday that a juvenile suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening and was sent to a hospital.

Neighbors told ABC 17 they heard yelling, but did not hear shots fired.

A police officer on the scene said there is no threat to the community. The scene was cleared at 9:40 p.m.
