Columbia residents can give input on recycling system at meeting next month
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
City of Columbia Solid Waste is holding a meeting next month to get input from residents about the city's recycling system.
According to a press release, the meeting will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 at the Activities and Recreation Center on West Ash Street. Staff from the city and the consultant, RRT Design & Construction will be there.
Right now, there are no changes proposed to the current recycling system, according to City Utilities spokesman Matt Nestor. However, he says the consultant is "evaluating all aspects of the recycling system."
People who are unable to attend the meeting can still share their comments with the city. People can submit questions or comments on the city's website.
According to the city's website, another meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 16. At that meeting, the consultant is expected to present the findings of its evaluation at City Hall.
Last month, the city hosted two public input meetings on the city's trash collection system. The city scheduled all of the public input meetings after the City Council voted to get rid of the city's logo bag system in December.
