Big names headline Super Bowl LVII; difference to be decided in the trenches

GLENDALE, Az. (KMIZ)

Leading up to Super Bowl LVII, Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts have led the headlines, but it's going to the guys up front in the trenches that will be the difference in deciding a win versus a loss.

"The show runs through the quarterback. You know, I do my part, but I'm an auxiliary piece to the main guy," said Eagles center Jason Kelce.

The guys in the front usually aren't showing up on the state sheet, but they'll be the key game changers on the big stage.

"If something doesn't happen, then the game is still four quarters and you've got to play the whole game," said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. "The one thing that jumps out at you in Super Bowls is turnovers. You got to limit the turnovers and it's great to start fast, but that also there are other factors in there."

The Chiefs defensive front was able to show up big in the AFC Championship game sacking Joe Burrow five times, but the group says they still have more to give.

"I think we're not done yet. We still got a ways to go," said defensive tackle Chris Jones. "We got one more game to play and if we don't come out be successful against this team, then it's all wasted."

The Chiefs offense also has a big task going up against the Eagles that have led the NFL in sacks this season.

"I think we've poured it in this whole week and this whole season, really taking it a week at a time and trying to really absorb the game plan and understand the opponent we're going against," said Chiefs guard Joe Thuney. "When it comes down to it, it's all about 11 men on offense and executing one play at a time."
