Canadian skier Crawford edges Kilde for world super-G title

COURCHEVEL, France (AP) — Canadian skier James Crawford has edged Aleksander Aamodt Kilde by one-hundredth of a second to win the men’s super-G at the world championships. Alexis Pinturault finished 0.26 seconds behind to take bronze. The Frenchman won the combined race in his hometown two days ago. Crawford trailed the Norwegian Kilde halfway through his run but mastered the final section. He’s won Canada’s 11th medal at a world championships and fourth gold. Overall World Cup champion Marco Odermatt finished 0.37 seconds behind in fourth. The Swiss skier is waiting for his first worlds worlds medal.
