According to a tweet, Columbia Police officers found a woman with gunshot wounds when they arrived in the area. She was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Christian Tabak, Public Information Specialist with Columbia Police Department said multiple shots were fired and two houses were hit by gunfire.
"Whenever a situation like this unfolds," Tabak said. "We do try to keep people aware of what's going on and if there's any kind of potential danger, we do ask them to keep their distance around the crime scene tape."
Columbia Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 573-874-7652, or call CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous at 573-875-8477.
