Second-half blunders results in another SEC loss for Mizzou women’s basketball

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

After a strong first half, the Mizzou women's basketball team couldn't close it out Sunday at home falling to Alabama 76-69.

The Tigers were led by senior forward Hayley Frank with 26 points and seven rebounds. Two other Tigers scored in double-figures including Haley Troup with 13 and freshman Ashton Judd with 12.

The Tigers had a three-point lead at the half, but were outscored 24-17 in the third quarter to give Alabama the advantage out of the locker room. MU finished with 15 turnovers against the Crimson Tide resulting in 20 points.

Alabama was led by a big performance from Brittany Davis finishing with 33 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

With the loss, Mizzou falls to 15-9 on the season and 4-7 in SEC play.

Up next - the Tigers will have an entire week to prepare for Arkansas. That game will be on the road next Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m.
