Boone County Commission to host public meetings throughout county to discuss ARPA funding

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Commission will host public meetings at various locations throughout the county regarding the distribution of American Rescue Plan Act funding, according to a Monday press release.

The sessions will offer community members the opportunity to share their comments and priorities for disbursement of ARPA funding with the Commissioners.

The sessions will also include presentations by the Boone County Commission regarding the application process, timeline and disbursement schedule for ARPA Funding. The Commission is now accepting applications from businesses and organizations for ARPA funding. The application can be found online.

The first round of funding will allocate up to $15 million in ARPA funds. The application deadline for the first round is 5 p.m. Friday, March 31. Approval of applications from the first round of funding is expected be in early June.

Dates include:

  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Hallsville City Hall
  • 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Centralia City Hall
  • 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Rocheport Community Hall
  • 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at Sturgeon Youth Center
  • 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Hartsburg Grand (30 S. 2nd Street in Hartsburg)
  • 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at Southern Boone R-1 Central Office (5275 W. Red Tail Drive in Ashland)
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Harrisburg R-VIII School District Central Office
  • 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Beulah Ralph Elementary School (5801 S. Hwy KK in Columbia)
  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Boone County Commission Chamber in the Boone County Government Center

The City of Columbia also announced last week that it would begin accepting proposals for ARPA funding.
