SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say a 21-year-old man wanted in the random killing of three people before dawn at a convenience store in Yakima, Washington, shot and killed himself as officers approached him several hours later. Yakima Police Chief Matt Murray said at a news conference that authorities had received a 911 call Tuesday afternoon as to the man’s whereabouts behind some warehouses. As officers approached the suspect’s location, they heard gunshots, and paramedics responded to treat the man. Murray says police did not use force and no officers were wounded. The development came several hours after authorities said three people were fatally shot at the convenience store.
