FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Sacred Heart and UConn have new state-of-the art ice arenas that put a national spotlight on college hockey in Connecticut. The buildings cost more than $70 million a piece and opened the same week that Quinnipiac’s men’s team took the top spot in the national polls. Yale beat Quinnipiac for the national championship a decade ago. All four of the state’s Division I programs will meet later this month in an annual tournament that school officials are hoping will one day rival the Beanpot tournament in Massachusetts.
