Police: Man fatally shot by officers had stolen truck, gun

KMIZ

WENTZVILLE, Mo. (AP) — Police say the man fatally shot by police after a chase in St. Charles County was driving a stolen pickup truck and carrying a stolen gun. Police on Thursday identified the man killed as 36-year-old Sonny J. Vincent. Court records show he was on parole after convictions for drug crimes and unlawful possession of a firearm. The shooting happened Tuesday night at Wentzville. Police used spike strips to stop the truck after it refused to pull over. Police say that as Vincent emerged from the truck and tried to flee, he pointed his gun at police. Two officers fired the shots that killed him. A female passenger in the truck is in custody and facing several charges.
