Bucs, Cowboys look for fresh start in wild-card matchup
By The Associated Press
Four months after opening the season against one another, Tom Brady and Dak Prescott are preparing to lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys into the first round of the NFL playoffs. The teams have taken distinctively different paths to the postseason since Brady improved to 7-0 all time against the Cowboys with a 19-3 win in September. The Bucs were wildly inconsistent in repeating as NFL South champions and will host Monday night’s NFC wild-card matchup against the Cowboys despite finishing with an 8-9 record. Prescott was injured in the first meeting, then missed the next five games before returning to lead Dallas to a 12-5 finish and No. 5 playoff seeding.
