New Coastal Carolina coach Beck names Chants assistants

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — New Coastal Carolina football coach Tim Beck has picked Travis Trickett to lead the offense and Craig Naivar and Dan Carrel to direct the defense next season. Beck was hired from North Carolina State to replace Jamey Chadwell, who left Coastal for the same position with Liberty. Trickett was most recently the offensive coordinator at South Florida last season. Naivar comes to Coastal after a season as special teams coordinator and safeties coach at SMU. Carrel returns to the college ranks after spending one year as a defensive coordinator in the USFL.
