Tracking morning fog, warmer temperatures on Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with patchy fog developing. Breezy with lows in the upper 40s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy, warm, and windy with highs in the low to mid-60s. Rain possible after sunset for areas east of Highway 63.

EXTENDED: Overnight temperatures fall to the upper 40s and highs get into the lower to mid-60s tomorrow as south winds continue. We'll start the day with some patchy fog, especially across the northern half of the area where it will be a bit less windy in the morning. Tomorrow is still somewhat breezy ahead of a cold front that could bring a few showers east of Highway 63 toward late evening. Rain is possible across eastern Missouri into Friday morning, but overall we'll be looking at a much cooler and cloudy day with high temperatures only reaching the mid-40s. Saturday is a bit warmer near 50, but another front could bring a few showers to areas east of Highway 63 during the day.  Rain chances look to diminish by sunset, leaving us dry for folks with New Year's Eve plans. Sunday is dry to end the weekend with highs in the lower 50s. I'll be tracking another low pressure system on Monday that will bring widespread rain and a few embedded thunderstorms. The best chance for anything severe will be across the bootheel of Missouri and into the southeast. We'll manage to make the upper 50s, but it's cooler on Tuesday behind all of that rain with temperatures in the upper 40s.
