Tracking snow beginning Thursday morning and dangerous wind chills

Today: Afternoon highs top out near the mid-30s with mostly cloudy skies and a north wind sustained at 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the upper 20s with overcast skies. Winds switch from the north to the east still sustained at 5-10 mph.

Extended: Early Thursday morning after 4 am, snowfall begins in the western parts of the viewing area moving to the east throughout the morning. Heaviest snowfall bands remain around Central Missouri from 8AM-12PM. Snowfall begins to die out by the late afternoon hours as winds will continue to pick up. Blowing snowfall will reduce visibility and cause travel disruption into Friday. Wind chills reach -30 degrees Friday leading to dangerously cold feels like temperatures. A Weather Alert has been issued lasting from Thursday morning until 9AM Sunday morning due to this system.
