Tracking the end of rain, cooler air moves in this week
TONIGHT: Rain exits, mostly cloudy and breezy with lows in the upper 30s to around 40.
TOMORROW: Partly cloudy and breezy with highs in the upper 40s to around 50. Winds gusting to 20 mph.
EXTENDED: Showers exit tonight, leaving us with gusty winds up to 30 mph. Tomorrow is looking dry, but scattered cloud stick around with high temperatures reaching the upper 40s to around 50 degrees. The breeze is still hanging around, but not quite as biting as today with gusts up to 20 mph. We could have a couple flurries wrapping around low pressure early on Thursday, especially across northern Missouri, but no impacts are expected. We'll cool down for the end of the week as Arctic air moves in from the north, dropping our high temperatures into the 30s through Sunday. Next week, we're keeping a close eye on a weak system that could bring a rain/snow mix to parts of the area between Monday night and Tuesday, but how exactly that will play out is still somewhat unclear. Some of our forecast models are also hinting at a late week storm system a few days before Christmas, but we'll get a better handle on that as well over the coming days.
