Holts Summit man to serve 10 years for child molestation

A Holts Summit man was sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on Friday after he pleaded guilty to two counts of child molestation.

Austin T. Hoyt had sexual contact with an 11-year-old girl four times beginning as early as 2017, according to court documents.

Hoyt was originally charged with two counts of child molestation, two counts of statutory sodomy, one count of statutory rape and one count of tampering with a victim.

Hoyt pleaded guilty on Monday to two counts of third-degree child molestation. The state dropped the other charges during Friday’s hearing.
