Power restored to Ameren customers near Ashland

UPDATE: Power was restored in less than an hour after the service interruption, according to the utility’s outage mpa.

ORIGINAL: Nearly 2,000 Ameren Missouri customers were without power in the Ashland area Tuesday morning.

The utility’s online outage map showed 1,980 customers without electric service in an area centered southeast of Ashland. The map estimated the outage began a little before 11:30 a.m. A utility spokeswoman said workers tripped a circuit while doing routine maintenance. She said a little before noon that service is expected to be restored shortly.
