Tracking a warm and windy Tuesday with a few storms
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear, 42.
TOMORROW: Warm and windy with gusts up to 35 mph. A cold front will bring a chance for a few showers and storms east of Highway 63. Highs in the upper 60s.
EXTENDED: Temperatures won't be too cool this evening as we drop into the lower 40s. Tomorrow will be breezy and mild with highs in the upper 60s, but we could see a few wind gusts between 35-40 mph. I'm tracking a cold front that will bring a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms by afternoon for areas east of Highway 63. The best chance for severe weather will stay well to our southeast, but we'll see a dramatic cool down behind the front as temperatures drop into the upper 20s by Wednesday morning. We could see a couple flurries behind the front on Tuesday night. The middle of the week is chilly as we only make the upper 30s for highs on Wednesday, and the low to mid-40s on Thursday. Winds shift back to the south Thursday, allowing for a warm up back into the upper 50s on Friday. Another front could bring a few showers on Friday night, cooling us down into the upper 40s on Saturday. Another low-pressure system could bring precipitation between Sunday and Monday, but there is still some uncertainty on the timing that could impact precipitation type. Total precipitation amounts between now and next Monday is around 0.5" north of I-70, with 1-2" possible for points south of that corridor.
