COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man faces several charges after allegedly leading a sheriff's deputy on a chase on Oct. 26.

A Boone County Sheriff's deputy found Keaveon Harris, 23, urinating on the street in the 3300 block of Falling Leaf Lane with the driver-side door open, according to a probable cause statement. His Ford Fusion was parked in the regular flow of traffic, and not to the far-right side of the shoulder, according to the statement.

Harris went back into the vehicle and started driving. The deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop and Harris allegedly drove past several cars and went the wrong way through a roundabout.

Harris drove down a dead-end street, ran away from his car and was arrested. The deputy also found about 460 grams of marijuana, according to the probable cause statement. It was learned that Harris also did not have a driver's license.

He is charged with: Operating a vehicle without a valid license, resisting arrest, possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana.

He posted a $10,500 bond.

An initial court appearance has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21 at the Boone County Courthouse.
