Robin Pingeton ready to see her team take on a tough non-conference schedule

The Mizzou women's basketball team is inching closer to its season opener on the road against in-state foe Missouri State.

Robin Pingeton said Friday that she focused on making the non-conference schedule a bit tougher this season to make sure her team is ready when it comes to SEC play.

"As a conference we all needed to up it in regards to our non-conference schedule," Pingeton said. "We tried to do that and just be proactive and playing teams that I think can prepare us for SEC play. There's some tough teams and some back-to-back games that I think are really going to be challenging for us."

Mizzou women's basketball will open up the season Monday at 6 p.m. at Missouri State.
