Heat and humidity hang on through the weekend

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with an isolated storm southeast. Lows in the upper 60s to around 70.

THURSDAY: Partly to mostly sunny and hot. Highs near 90, heat index in the mid-60s.

EXTENDED: The jet stream stays to our north this week, keeping any disturbances with organized rain and storms well out of our way. High pressure stays locked in over Mid-Missouri through early next week, giving us highs in the upper 80s to low 90s each day, and dew points in the 70s will provide a heat index in the mid-90s daily. We can’t rule out a stray storm or two each day given how much moisture and instability there will be each day, but widespread rain and storms are not expected.
