Audrain County judge sentences man in deadly 2017 shooting

The Missouri man convicted in a deadly 2017 shooting in Audrain County was sentenced to prison Monday morning.

Richard Henry II, 39, of Overland, Missouri, received a 25-year term after he pled guilty to an amended charge of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Leon Wilder III, 30, of Columbia.

Wilder’s body was found by investigators southeast of Centralia in 2017.

Two other people, Justin Traughber and Arline Diedrich, have also been sentenced in Wilder’s death.

Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney Jacob Shellabarger said Monday, “This sentence will hopefully provide a measure of comfort and closure for the family of Leon Wilder.”
