Dry, partly cloudy Thursday… More storms Friday, severe storms possible

TODAY: Partly cloudy and mild with highs in the low 80s.

TONIGHT: We remain dry with lows dropping into the upper 60s.

EXTENDED: A complex of thunderstorms will develop in Kansas late Thursday night and track eastward into Missouri through Friday morning. Model data has been inconsistent with the strength and placement of this complex, but the ingredients to maintain the system are available in all parts of Mid-Missouri. The main threats would be for damaging winds up to 70 mph and some hail. The timing looks to be between the morning rush and lunch time. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on this threat. Temperatures look steamy as we head into Saturday with afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s and heat index values near 100.
