Man killed in crash in rural Cooper County

A man is dead after a crash Friday afternoon in rural Cooper County.

Richard E. Casanova, 75, of Boonville, was hurt in the collision on Old Concord Road near Route B around 4 p.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a Jeep driven by Casanova was hit by another car after both vehicles crossed the center line while going around a curve.

Casanova was taken to Pinnacle Regional Hospital in Boonville, where he later died.

Family members have been notified.

The other driver, Leigh E. Snoddy, 31, of Boonville, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to troopers, Casanova wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
