One flown to burn unit after Tuesday night fire

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was flown to a hospital after a Tuesday night structure fire near Helmsman Point Road.

The Gravois Fire Protection District said in a Facebook post that an unidentified person was found on the first floor of the building while heavy fire was on the second floor. That person was flown to the Springfield Cox Burn Unit with serious injuries.

Two other residents were treated at the scene. The fire was quickly put out.

The Missouri Division of Fire Safety and GFPD believed the fire was accidental after an investigation. The displaced residents were assisted by the Red Cross.
