Columbia murder suspect court date rescheduled
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The man accused of murdering and evidence tampering after a woman's body was found in a closet last week had his preliminary hearing rescheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 8.
Adam Conner is charged with second-degree murder and felony evidence tampering. His first court appearance took place last week, when he was ordered held without bond. He is being represented by a public defender.
Conner was arrested and charged after police found Patricia Kelly's body inside a garage on High Quest Drive in north Columbia. Police checked the home and garage after a woman called to say she hadn't seen her roommate in several days, according to a probable cause statement.
Police say Kelly, 59, died from blunt force trauma to the head and officers recovered a bloody claw hammer at the scene.
Conner's lawyer Kaitlyn Bullard said Conner is currently being held at Missouri's Department of Correction without bond.
