Police: Victim pushed from Highway 63 bridge near Clark Lane

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

First responders in Boone County blocked off a northeast Columbia road Tuesday night.

"At 6:45 p.m. CPD responded to reports that an individual had been pushed over a bridge at Clarke Lane and northbound Highway 63," Columbia Police Department spokesman Christian Tabak told ABC17.

The victim fell from the Highway 63 bridge. Tabak said the victim has transported to a local hospital and that there is no active threat to the community.

"Upon arrival, an individual was located an individual located who needed medical attention," Tabak said, "we have identified a person of interest."

No arrests have been made.

CPD's criminal investigation unit, and crime scene investigators arrived on scene to further analyze the scene, Tabak said. CPD does not believe there is an active threat to the community.

Tabak said CPD would also be updating its Twitter page as it receives more information.

Columbia police and firefighters, along with ambulance crews, blocked off the 3000 block of Clark Lane, just west of the Highway 63/I-70 connector. ABC 17 News crews saw officers place flares along Clark Lane.
