Columbia man faces heroin dealing charge

Boone County prosecutors have charged a man suspected a selling heroin after police staked out his home and arrested him last month.

According to court documents, the Columbia Police Department heard from informants and witnesses that a man named “Dre” was selling heroin from his home in the 1500 block of Sylvan Lane. Detectives were aware of a man named Andre L. Anderson who often goes by “Dre” and is a known dealer, according to the documents.

Detectives found heroin and cocaine in two vehicles they pulled over leaving the home, police said.

Officers searched the home March 9 and seized numerous baggies with their corners cut off, white residue, digital scales, drug paraphernalia and a phone with messages on it.

Anderson is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Anderson posted a $7,000 bond on March 11, according to online court records.
