Services for a slain Missouri police officer will begin with a candlelight vigil Wednesday evening. The Clinton Missouri Police Department says the vigil for Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael starts at 8:30 p.m. at the Henry County Court House. A visitation is scheduled for Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton.

UPDATE: 10:00 p.m.: According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a passerby called in a tip around 6:15 p.m. that someone was walking on the side of Highway U in Henry County. When troopers checked out the tip, they found suspect Ian McCarthy with a gunshot wound. McCarthy was taken into custody without any problems.

TODAY: The beautiful and unseasonably cool weather continues across Mid-Missouri this afternoon, as temperatures will only climb into the lower 80s.
