Work beginning on Columbia sidewalks

Crews are working on several sidewalks and streets in Columbia Monday morning. Two teens hurt in Boonville crash

Two Mid-Missouri teens are recovering after a car crashed into a semi-truck Saturday. It happened on Ashley Road in Boonville just after 10:15 a.m., according to Cooper County Emergency Management. The driver of the car, Adam Lixey, 18, of Boonville, went into oncoming traffic and hit the semi, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Mid-Missouri sheriff’s department tries new method of prescription drug disposal

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department collected approximately 36,000 prescription drug pills Saturday during Operation Take Back. In four hours, 87 people dropped off their unwanted medications that would safely be destroyed with a new method of disposal.
