Missing Camden County boy found in attic

Two people were arrested on Tuesday after Laclede County detectives found a missing child in their attic.

Braedence Jones, 6, had been missing since August, when his mother Aubrey Ferguson allegedly took him during a scheduled visitation. Laclede County authorities got a warrant on Tuesday to search a home on Highway N, according to a press release from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

Ferguson and her boyfriend Woodrow Ziegler had allegedly hid the child in an attic crawl space. Ferguson was with Braedence in the crawl space when authorities searched the home, the release said. Both Ferguson and Ziegler were arrested.

The United States Marshals Service Midwest Violent Fugitive Task Force was working with Laclede County and Camden County authorities on leads due to the sightings reported in the City of Stoutland and Laclede County.

Per court order, Ziegler was not supposed to have contact with Braedence.

Ferguson was charged with child abduction. Additional charges are being sough in Laclede and Camden counties, the release said.
