WEATHER CLOSINGS: Columbia Public Schools calls off Friday classes; Boonville to go virtual

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Public Schools is canceling Friday classes for safety measures.

Officials say the timing of overnight snow accumulation makes it difficult to ensure safe travel in the morning and guarantee lots and sidewalks will be ready for students and staff.

Columbia Public Schools will now make the previous April 13 early release day into a full day of school. This will allow the district to maintain May 26 as the last day of school as promised to our community at the beginning of the school year.

Sturgeon R-V school district has also canceled classes for Friday.

State Fair Community College in Boonville will have virtual classes starting at noon on Friday.

The Boonville School District will have a virtual day on Friday for classes.

The Southern Boone School District will have a snow day on Friday.
