Crews respond to poor driving conditions, warn of slick roads
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia road crews are clearing roads as snow falls across the area. Local officials are warning drivers to stay in Wednesday night with slick conditions reported around Mid-Missouri.
Columbia Public Works plow crews reported at 7 p.m. A Facebook post from the department shows plow drivers will be out on priority routes throughout the night.
Public works said below freezing temperatures overnight could cause icy conditions for the Thursday morning commute.
The Missouri Department of Transportation tweeted at 7 p.m. about poor driving conditions. MoDOT said drivers should look out for slick roads on brides and overpasses.
The MoDOT Traveler Information Map shows many Mid-Missouri roadways are covered with snow.
Eldon police said drivers should use caution driving around the north side of town Wednesday night.
The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team reports snow will continue through midnight.
