The first snow came early this fall, with light accumulation on grass starting Wednesday and continuing on Halloween.
Lows overnight Thursday are expected to plunge into the mid-20s, with the high possibly breaking the record for the lowest high in Columbia. The normal high for this time of year is 62 degrees, but in Columbia temperatures were expected to top out in the 30s, according to the National Weather Service.
