Tracking slim rain chances into a warm weekend

TODAY: Friday is shaping up cooler than Thursday, with more cloud cover, and spotty rain chances. Plenty of dry time will be had today as temperatures reach near 70 this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Southerly flow continues overnight, with clouds lingering as well. This keeps temperatures in the 50s overnight.

EXTENDED: A warm front lifting through the region will anchor in warm and moist air, and will drive daily rain chances over the next seven days. Saturday, we're mostly dry, thanks to a solid cap of warm air on the atmosphere. Storms could break through that cap though, if we can get temperatures to warm enough. This looks possible late in the day, as temperatures will soar into the mid-80s. Any storms that develop on Saturday will have the potential to become strong to severe. In the long term, while no washouts are forecast, we expect to see daily chances for scattered rainfall, and highs in the 80s at least through Thursday of next week.
