Tracking daily storm chances, dry time in between

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy with storms diminishing. Lows in the upper 60s and muggy.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy with scattered storms likely. Highs near 80.

EXTENDED: Daily storm chances continue through Thursday as low pressure slides in our direction from the south over the next few days. Storms could bring brief heavy rain and frequent lightning, but organized severe weather isn't expected this week. Rain amounts through Thursday will be in the ballpark of 1", but there could be locally higher amounts if the same locations get hit by slow moving storms over multiple days. A cold front finally provides some changes by the end of the week with less humid air by Friday and temperatures cooling back into the upper 70s for highs and upper 50s to around 60 for lows. The weekend is looking pleasant and dry as we close out the month of May.
