More clouds, rain possible by Thursday night

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear, lows in the upper 30s.

THURSDAY: Increasing clouds, highs in the lower 50s.

EXTENDED: Clouds return as moisture increases Thursday, with rain likely holding off until evening as it spreads northwest from southern Missouri. A cold front slides through Thursday night into Friday, dropping temperatures into the low 40s for Friday afternoon. Lingering precipitation has the chance to change over to snow showers Friday night into Saturday, but accumulation looks very minimal if we have any at all going into Saturday morning. The weekend remains quiet with highs just shy of 40 on Saturday and near 50 by Sunday. Another system moving into the area early next week could bring more precipitation between Monday night and Tuesday, but the details on timing and precipitation type are still unclear.
